This article explains the grant support available for Erasmus+ students and recent graduates participating in physical mobility activities. It outlines monthly funding amounts by country group, additional top-ups for students with fewer opportunities or on traineeships, funding limitations for home country mobility, and detailed travel support amounts based on distance.
Individual support for physical mobility – base amounts for long-term mobility.
Students may receive an individual support grant as a contribution to their additional costs for subsistence related to their period of study or traineeship abroad.
FUNDING PRIORITIZATION MEASURES
- Funding for Home Country Mobility (First-Time Participants): Students who have chosen their home country as their mobility destination and have not previously participated in the Erasmus+ Program will qualify for funding for a maximum duration of two months.
- Funding for Recent Participants: Students who have selected their home country as their mobility destination and have recently participated in the Erasmus+ Program will only qualify for travel support, calculated using the Erasmus+ distance calculator https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/resources-and-tools/distance-calculator.
- Outstanding Obligations: Students who have not resolved any outstanding obligations from their previous Erasmus+ mobility activities will be ineligible for funded activities.
For mobility between EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme and to third countries not associated to the Programme from Regions 13 and 14, the monthly amounts will be defined by the National Agencies in agreement with National Authorities, and/or the HEIs on the basis of objective and transparent criteria as described below.
The exact amounts will be published on the websites of National Agencies and of HEIs. EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme and third countries not associated to the Programme from Regions 13 and 14 are divided into the following three groups:

The travel distance represents the distance between the place of origin and the venue, whereas the amount covers the contribution to the travel costs both to and from the venue.
