Install the Media Feature Pack on Windows 11 N - camera not working

If you're using Windows 11 N, your system lacks built-in media features like Windows Media Player and camera codecs. This can affect apps that rely on these components, such as the Camera app or video conferencing tools.

📥 To install the Media Feature Pack:

Option 1 – Via Settings:

1. Open Settings (Windows + I)

2. Go to Apps > Optional features

3. Click View features next to Add an optional feature

4. Search for Media Feature Pack

5. Select it and click Next, then Install

6. Restart your computer after installation

Option 2 – Via PowerShell (if the above does not work):

1. Right-click the Start menu and select Windows Terminal (Admin) or PowerShell (Admin)

2. Run the following command:

   nginx

    

   DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:Media.MediaFeaturePack~~~~0.0.1.0

3. Wait for the process to complete and restart your PC

📌 Important Notes:

• This pack is only available for Windows 11 N editions.

• You may need to manually install additional media apps or codecs (e.g., HEVC Video Extensions) from the Microsoft Store.
