This article provides detailed guidelines for participating in proctored final exams using the Proctorio platform. It covers technical requirements, identification verification, procedures for justified absences, and step-by-step instructions for before, during, and after the exam. It emphasizes the mandatory nature of final exam participation, the option to submit handwritten answers, and the importance of preparing your equipment in advance. Contact details for technical support and helpful resources are also included.
Final exams with proctoring require you to follow a few basic guidelines to ensure a smooth exam experience. Please make sure your environment is quiet, distraction-free, and fully compliant with our proctoring standards. You will be monitored via video and audio to maintain exam integrity. Take a moment to carefully read these instructions so you are fully prepared on the day of the exam.
Participation in final exams is mandatory. Therefore, any unjustified absence from final exams without proper notification will be considered a failure.
As such:
In cases where, for any serious and documented reason, you are unable to participate in any of your final exams, please make sure to inform your instructor by email, attaching the relevant documentation, at least 3 days BEFORE the exam date.
In the event of unforeseen and sudden reasons for your absence from the final exams, please send notification to your instructor as soon as possible, and in any case within 2 days AFTER the date of the exam, attaching the appropriate documentation.
If you are unable to contact your instructor, you can contact your academic department directly:

During the exam, it is necessary to present an identification document in order to verify that the person completing the exam is the officially enrolled student. If your student ID is not available, the university accepts other official forms of identification, such as a national or police ID.
For any technical problems that arise before or during final exams for distance-learning courses, you may contact the university’s technical support team by email at support@euc.ac.cy or by phone at +357 22713138 / +357 22713179.
Please note that you are allowed to submit handwritten answers during final exams. If you plan to use this option, it is recommended to download the Adobe Scan App on your phone to scan the individual pages.
-
If your exam is open-note, you must upload your handwritten answer below each question, as a single scanned file (if multiple pages).
-
If your exam is closed-note, you will upload your answers after the end of the exam. The scanned file must be uploaded to the designated folder on Blackboard created by your instructor.
-
The upload link for handwritten submissions remains active for 15–30 minutes after the exam ends, after which it closes and only your instructor may reopen it.
The exam time follows local Greece/Cyprus time. Students who reside in countries with a ±1 or ±2 hour difference must make appropriate arrangements to take the exam according to Greece/Cyprus time. For students with a greater time difference, necessary accommodations will be arranged where needed and communicated in advance.
The integrity and reliability of online exams is ensured through remote monitoring using the Proctorio software. Your instructors will post the relevant instructions in each course on the platform.
For your convenience, please see below related instructions:

-
30 minutes before the exam, you must join your instructor in the Collaborate Room (Blackboard Collaborate) to receive final instructions.
-
The exam will be hidden, and you will not be able to see it before the official start time. Once the exam time begins, your instructor will make it visible and guide you on where to access it. Please refresh the course page first so the exam appears.
-
Your exam timer starts once you enter the exam and see the questions. The timer does not start before this point, so if you haven't entered the exam yet, you are not losing time.
-
Once the given time runs out, the exam will be automatically submitted.
-
After submitting your exam, you will receive a confirmation email to your university email address.
