This article explains how students can stay updated on new content added to their courses in Blackboard Ultra. It covers how to use the Activity Stream, email and push notifications, the Course Content area, and instructor announcements to track newly uploaded files, assignments, and other materials.
Blackboard Ultra provides several ways to keep you informed of new content:
1. Activity Stream
-
When you log into Blackboard, the Activity Stream (main dashboard) shows:
-
New content uploads (e.g., files, assignments, tests)
-
New announcements or discussions
-
Upcoming due dates
-
-
This is the fastest way to see what’s new across all your courses.
2. Email or Push Notifications
-
If enabled in your notification settings, you’ll receive alerts via:
-
Email (daily summary or immediate notifications)
-
3. Course Content Section
-
Enter your course and go to the Course Content area.
-
New items may be marked with a “New” label or positioned at the top if recently added.
4. Announcements
-
Instructors often post an announcement when new material is uploaded.
-
You can view them in the course or from your Activity Stream.
