This article explains where students can find course announcements in Blackboard Ultra. It covers how to access announcements via the Activity Stream, within individual courses, and through email notifications if enabled by the instructor.
Course announcements are used by instructors to share important updates. You can find them in a few places:
1. Activity Stream (Main Dashboard)

When you log into Blackboard, the Activity Stream shows the latest announcements from all your courses.

Click on an announcement to view the full message.
2. Inside the Course

Open the specific course from your Courses list.

Look for the Announcements section, usually available in the course menu or at the top of the course content page.

Click on the announcement to read the full details.
3. Email Notification (if enabled)

If your instructor enables email notifications, you’ll receive a copy of the announcement in your university email inbox.
